If you really get rid of this problem, better pay extra money as demanded by them,if you are capable enough to meet their demand but it should be properly documented by an expert family law advocate. Otherwise after taking money also they can harass you and your family. Sometimes it so happens even there is no fault on you, you will have to undergo problems. My personal advice, either you should bring them for reunion or settle the issue with help of advocate instead of giving them scope to go against you and your family. Your life will be more miserable in such circumstances.

if there is no chance of reunion, go for mutual consent divorce. The terms / maintenance / alimony etc. if any is to be decided mutually. Take help of relatives and your lawyer / well wishers.
