Complaint on a courier company

I had ordered a product worth Rs. 27000/- through SnapDeal.com on November 26th. They had shipped the product from their end to Delhivery Courier on Nov 27th. Still it has not reached me. Whenever I call them they either say, i will receive in 48 hrs or they do not pick the call simply. The product was supposed to reach me before December 1st and it still dint reach me. How can I charge a complaint against the Courier Company? Should I wait till I receive the product to lodge a complaint?

You have no cause of action against the courier but you can explore legal redress against the online site if you made the payment for it.
For this you have to go to the consumer forum.

Has the courier co. confirmed in the courier receipt, the time taken for delivery of the article? If the mentioned time schedule was not followed, you may lodge complaint with the consumer forum.

Instead of calling the company on phone and wasting your hard earned monies prefer to transact in writing.

Obtain the shipment details from company in writing. Once the shipment detail is supplied you may write to Courier Company on the same email trail that shipment is not delivered to you and it should be delivered at appointed time/date (mention the same) and also sound the BM in local office at your location.


You may log onto website of the courier and take a screenshot of the tracking of the AWB and declare to the company in writing that the shipment is not received by you and company should supply you the certified copy of the POD.

You may add that the shipment shall be received by you in person and courier company employed by the company should reach for delivery by a fixed appointment and mention tentative dates...................and time and that you shall examine the contents of the shipment and if there is any variance and damage record it on run sheet of the courier along with specifications of the product ordered by you and actually receive d by you and also obtain the acknowledgment from delivery boy about variance and damage.

The delivery boys are also expected to carry their ID’s.

As it is understood from various publications with such companies it is always better to prepare the video while taking delivery.

All these steps may help you to protect your hard earned monies.

If there is a deficiency you can always agitate in DCDRF.

What is the value of purchase? Whether you have already paid? Though you have no recourse as the courier as you are not the consignor, still what did they say?
Immediately send a written message/e-mail to the online sales company that you have not received the consignment and ask for refund immediately if you have already paid the amount. If you have not paid the amount, forget the episode.
