Can a xerox of the original deed will help in proving originality.

sir,
i need a query,
one of my friend is in great trouble, his father have 2 brothers and they are having a joint family property which is in the name of their mother and suddenly he came to know that one of his uncle (fathers brother) with his sons have forged that sale deed and mortgaged that property.
grand mother expired long back and now when his father came to know about such mortgage he was searching the original deed but he found the xerox of original deed and he lost the original deed.
and when he compared both the deeds he found that original document has been forged and now his father wants to safe his share as a matter is being file for recovery of money .
one more query sir can my friends father with the help of xerox of original document prove that the document through which mortgage has been done is a forged document,
if yes. suggest me how.

He can have the certified copy of the original document which is to be proved from the registrar office.

If the lost document was registered one, certified copy of the same could be obtained from the concerned register office which is admissible in evidence as secondary evidence.

if document is forged obtain hand writing expert opinion . obtain certified copy of document for comparison of signatures
