I am a pass out from Ajay Kumar Garg Engineering College this year . The college takes 10000 Rs as college caution/security money and 5000 as hostel they return the sum after 5 years(a year after we leave college) with no information on where the interest went for these 5 years. In addition 2 to 3 thousand is deducted from the sum.

In addition the cheque which they gave me returned with the reason drawer signature mismatch . addition 500 were debited from my account . what should i do?

Visit a local lawyer with cheque and memo issued by bank.
Advocate. Arunagiri (Expert) 28 May 2014
Send a letter to the college authorities seeking details for deduction and inform them of the cheque return. They will issue a fresh cheque.

Did you check the form of admission where the college has mentioned and asked to deposit caution/security money vis-a-vis refund after passing out? It should have been endorsed by college.
Approach the college as advised by Mr. Arunagiri, I agree with him. However, it is premature to initiate legal action.

You can file case in the consumer forum for return of money and also for compensation.

Send a legal notice first. If no response then file the case

The cheque has been bounced.

Issue notice u/s 138 NI Act, consult a local lawyer.

May move to consumer forum for refund.

The caution/security deposit donot incur any interest and a line of information can be seen printed in the brochure/prospectus of the college. For deductions, you should have asked the reason that time itself, however even now you can write to the management seeking reasons for deduction and if it is not justified you may issue lawyer's notice demanding refund of such deduction. About bounced cheque, you can write to them to repay the cheque amount by cash or to issue you with a proper cheque and can also quote the loss you suffered due to return of the cheque by bankers.

I do agree with Kalaiselvan.
