yes audio recordings are admissible in evidence
T. Kalaiselvan, Advocate (Expert) 06 March 2014
Audio recordings in the original form can be produced as evidence, but with the present technological development it will be very tough to prove the same especially in the light of morphing and voice change technology in vogue. The intention is not to discourage but to exercise utmost caution at the time of producing the evidence in its original form.
Biswanath Roy (Expert) 06 March 2014
The burden is upon the prosecution to prove that the voice is the voice of the accused by voice test report, but even then such proof will be taken up by the court as circumstantial evidence and not as direct evidence.
Devajyoti Barman (Expert) 06 March 2014
Yes but it needs formal proof which is cumbersome.
Dr J C Vashista (Expert) 09 March 2014
Admissible in evidence, if you can prove authenticity of the contents.

Authenticity can be proved by scanning the voice and collecting sample voice for testing by the help of Forensic experts.
