One of my friend is going to marry a guy who is 1 year younger than her age.Is the marraige between betwen them valid according to hindhu marraige act?

yes, its valid, having any proof and register that marriage. as per hindu law.

Whatever may be the religion, age is not at all a deciding factor in marriage.

By the way, I noticed that you are posting different queries stating that those are for your friends. Why don't you ask your frined to come and ask directly??

I would like to know which is the caste/religion which has put restriction that the bride shall be strictly younger than the groom??

I would like to know further that which law states that the girl shall be younger than the boy in intercaste marriages??

as per Hindu Marriage Act, both the persons shall be of marriagable age

i.e. minimum age for boy 21 yrs

and for gal 18 yrs.

who is elder otherwise is not a relevant question, if the girl is one year elder then its not an issue, the only condition is boy must be of minimum 21 years of age.

Also, I differ than underage marriages are void.

They are voidable on the option of parties.
