In a suit for Injunction defendant is in merchant ship.Case stands posted for appearance to 24th February. Not possible get Vakalath or Power of Attorney as he is in the ship.Matter is to be heard urgently to vacate the interim injunction order. Can I file the counter and argue case by filing memo of appearance on the basis of the email authorizing me to contest the case.Is there any authority permitting representation on the basis of email?

if the defendant is only one than you can file memo also and of more defendants than you can appear on others bahlf and argue.

You can not file counter and also you can not argue the matter without vakalath signed by the defendant. You can request the court orally to adjourn the matter for next date.

You can appear with digitally signed Wakalatnama.

You can even give application that you have received oral directions from the client to appear in the matter and regular vakalat will be produced in due course.
