Workplace harrasment and bullying & late working hours

(Querist) 26 December 2014 This query is : Resolved
Hi,
I would like to know what are the laws for ideal working hours in an organization. What are the remedies if an employee is made to work for more than 9 hours a day. In countries like Australia, there is Fair Work commission, what are appropriate bodies in India and especially Maharashtra.

Ideal working hours and remedies, if any employee is made to work for more than 9 hours depend from organization to organization, management to management of the organisation and more so, from employee's own efficiency, sincerity, aptitude and behaviour also.

There is a difference between a guru mantra and solution to some specific problem. While for guru mantra, you will have to learn for a long time by serving under the guidance of some practical man. On the other, if you have some specific problem, you should be specific about that with detail. For academic queries, you should not expect the expert to hold tutorials for anyone.

8hrs/day...48hrs/week beyond which OT is applicable............there is a cap on OT hrs.
Employer should pay OT along with monthly wages and employee should claim OT in reasonable time.....
Post your specific query..

Hi All,
This is no academic query, working hours that some organizations make employees do is like 13-14 hours and do not even hesitate to make it further. Than there is also lot of pressure to complete number of other tasks. If that task is not completed than there is also humiliation. Working for such prolonged hours is not viable. It also has an impact on personal life.

No guru-shishya relationship is involved in this case. Those good old days are gone. Sorry to say sir, we are in 21st century and those old values are slowly diminishing. Today education is also commercial, if you want good or better education than one needs to shell out money.

If you opine that you have to shell out money for better education, to get educated in a better way on the query raised, better shell out money to a local consultant/lawyer and get a quality (?) information(education) to the desired level. You cannot show your arrogance this way to the experts giving advises/opinions in this portal at free of cost.
