My mom expired last month and we have a property in her name in palaghat, for taking legal heir certificate in kerala village officer say her mother is the legal heir and not husband and children.

Request to advice on this.

is it self acquired property of your mother . is your grand mother still alive . on demise of your mother her husband , children and your grand mother would be legal heirs

Consult local lawyer and discuss full case by showing relative documents. The legal heir certificate can be taken from the jurisdiction officer where she lived.
