Society bye-laws

Ours is a registered society, project incomplete, no oc, society maintenance is with the builder as he registered the society some years back. The residents have formed an association to handle affairs with the builder. Are we governed by the Society bye-laws being an association or bye-laws are by default applicable from the day, the society was registered? Please guide.

We are currently functioning under welfare association with an adhoc committee. Is the bye laws still applicable?
