Bigamy

Hello my friend got married in India but he is already married with a lady in US.they don't get divorce. Can his first wife file a petition for bigamy? or can his 2nd marriage by any sense get legal?

second marriage is ill legal . you have to prove that during subsistence of first marriage he has married again

Ans Sir What about 2nd wife?? Is her marriage can never be legal or it can be? Or whether she claim any maintenance?

The second marriage is illegal. Only after divorce of first marriage , it would get some sanctity only if it is registered afresh.

Bigamy is attracted.
Second marriage is illegal.

But if second wife can prove that she was kept in dark by husband's fraud and even her due inquiry could not reveal that her husband was married,she may claim damages
by a law suit.
