Tax reward

i have filled a writ petition against the tax department for a reward of 10% in which i need some jugdments (in this matter a person gave information to tax department about those who avoid to pay the tax after that a search was conducted by the tax department and informer was entitled a reward of 10% on recovery and tax assessed by the tax department and the department has failed to pay the reward.)

Reward cannot be claimed as a matter right. It is solely at the discretion of the department.
However, the discretion has to be exercised judiciously. Further, if a person has given information, on the promise of reward by the government, not fulfilling the promise of the sovereign is betrayal of trust.
Seek information from the department in RTI and move HC after you receive sufficient information.
