You have to establish that wife has no sufficient means and the ultimate welfare of the child rests with you. There may be various point in support of your case depending upon circumstances.

this issue is not simple and the court will consider one and only aspect i.e.

Welfare of the Child

Welfare of the child is paramount consideration in such matters and it will be assessed according to the facts and circumstances of the case.
