As per your query it seems that your question relates to sec. 244 of cr.p.c. which is a provision for evidence for prosecution in cases instituted otherwise than on police report and in which there is no provision for accused to get any copies of document/evidence placed before charge.
Ajay Bansal (Expert) 24 December 2010
AS PPER SECTION 178 Cr.P.C. ITSELF, THE ACCUSED HAS A RIGHT TO GET ALL THESE DOCUMENTS FROM THE COURT.
M V Gupta (Expert) 25 December 2010
Yes.
The accused is entitled to get all the documents/evidences based on which the charge sheet is filed. Sections 207, 208 of the CRPC may pl be seen. Even otherwise this is required under the principles of ntaural justice. Does not require any ruling for demanding supply of such documents. Section 178 cited by Shri. Bansal deals with place of enquiery or trial, and not supply of documents etc. to the accused.
