Advocate refuses to return money

Sir, I gave rupees 5000 to an advocate to appear for me in a criminal case. He came late on one occasion and never appeared on second occasion and I stopped him from the case. He never gave me any consultation nor appeared for me even on a single occasion. Now when I asked him to return the fees he says professional fees cannot be returned. I'm shocked and stunned. Should I go for police complaint or should I complaint to bar council. Please help me

Submit a written complaint to your Bar Council/Association. Mention all facts in your complaint.

Involve your advocate friends and take office bearers of the Assc,in confidence.

You can lodge complaint.
