right daughters are entitled for equal shares that is applicable to married girls too.
Ms.Usha Kapoor (Expert) 06 August 2016
Dear Client,

Under the amended Hindu Succession Act 2005, daughters get equal rights in parents' ANCESTRAL PROPERTY and if partition had not taken place till 2005 in the meantime if they are marrieds they can file a suit for partition and allotment of their share in the parents ancestral property.

I would like to reconfirm, I have read in TOI, Indian express etc. sites that if father has expired (property registered owner) before 9th Sep 2005, then daughter's don't have right to claim the property whereas if father and daughter both are alive till 9th Sep 2005, then father expires then daughters have equal right to claim the parental property.. Kindly confirm what is correct..

It is for ancestral property.

It is not for self acquired property.
