(Querist) 28 May 2014 This query is : Resolved
Sir,

Can I file an RTI application asking police for action taken for a cheating complaint filed by some other person which is pending with them for last 11 months.

If yes, Do I need to file a separate RTI application asking as to why no action has been taken in case I recv reply fm police that application is still pending or this question be included in the first application itself.

Thanks

Investigation progress is not disclosed to third party by the investigating officer. Your RTI would fetch any positive result is doubtful.
T. Kalaiselvan, Advocate (Expert) 31 May 2014
While the case is pending investigation, the police may not divulge information citing investigation is in progress. Further more, information on such issues to third party without involving larger interest of public are generally not entertained, but try.
