Rent agreement

Is rent agreement is compulsory to registered or optional in maharashtra earlier we are going to valid agreement on the basis of notarization.please guide me in the eyes of law.

Is registration of rent agreement is compulsory or optional in maharashtra, earlier we used get notarized the rent agreement instead of registration.also give explanation about expense about the same i.e (registration and notarized) what is procedure for the rent agreement.

It is optional. Notarised agreement would do.

Notarized document is enough. To a Notary Public with the rental agreement. He will notarize in his records and certifies on the face of the document. As regards expenses, for notary, the expenses are minimum.

in mahrashtra rental agreement is required to be registered .

It is always better to register sch agreement to avoid problems in future. Notarized agreement is no better than a plain agreement.

In Maharashtra or else where in country a rent agreement below 365 days is not compulsorily registrable.

But in Maharashtra even if you choose for a day or a month for leave and licence agreement you do need to register it,else your tenant not your version shall prevail.

EXPERTS ARE WELCOME TO PROVE ME WRONG MORE PARTICULARLY Mr.VR SHROFF,My SO CALLED CAPTAIN HUMILIATING EVERY EXPERT MORE THAN QUERISTS HERE ?i curse the day i accepted him captain.Any abusive querist would get deleted only when he /she abuses Shroff,not others is the role noticed by me.Anyway i do not need his help to coup with my problems as i have separated now with my own individuality setting free from all obligations,now exclusively my domain what to answer and what to not and no comment needed otherwise results would be more fatal than mehrotra or suresh or rajkumar is my warning or request to those who hold some prudence.

I failed to understand who is Suresh, and why u have to curse the day , I started serving all expert's interest,
Mr Sajis's Query is very simple.
It is true that in Mah state LL Agr & Rent Agr need compulsory Registration, after stamp duty payment.

May I know What is ur grievance??

I must have not notices queries in last few days as I was too busy to go thru it.
May I know where u are hurt, by whom u r hurt, and I will do the needful, whatever I can do for you.

I had always supported you, and will continue doing so.

I agree with Shri Sethi

Mumbai , cost of business/ residential premises id very very high, and a tenant try to grab it at any cost.
So Regn helps both parties..
It is necessary too.
& why Govt shd loose it's revenue???
Notary, govt get Rs. 25/-
Regn, govt gets + 10k-10L !!!

section 55 of Maharashtra rent control act 1999 provides that tenancy agreement are to be compulsorily registered . it is immaterial if it is leave and license agreement or agreement for letting any premises between landlord and tenat or licensee .
