Sabbatical leave in dhanlaxmi bank

(Querist) 19 October 2013 This query is : Resolved
Dear Sir,

I have a marriage proposal who is working in the said bank. I am working abroad in govt sector as engineer. After marriage I am planning to take her with me for 5 years. Will the bank sanction the leave for 5 years? She is telling after marriage she can get it. But she is not sure. And from her attitude she wont be ready to resign the job. So please help me in this matter. If it is not possible to get leave then I am planning to cancel the marriage. Awaiting your valuable reply. Thanking you.

With Regards,

Sunil George

There is no such provision to sanction leave for 5 years, however,I am not sure about the Dhanlaxmi Bank.

you are heading for marriage break up and perhaps more serious consequences. You proposal itself is starting from dispute and conflict.

You condition of marriage is that she should either leave career or should have a serious dent on her career fort the sake of marriage which is otherwise so risky and fragile these days.

She should also realise at this stage it self that you are not the last groom in the country.

even in Govt sector 5 years is the final cap on continuous leave and it is not binding for employer to sanction such long leave.

Do not attach the issue of leave with marriage.
Life partner is more important than job. After marriage you can continue the normal relationship even if she dies not get such long leave.

agree with experts.

If she not ready to resign the job, better you drop the proposal as experts rightly analyzed that the relationship appears to be starting with a conflict of views.
As regards leave, there is no such provision for granting 5 years sabbatical leave. She will start her own game that she will not resign after marriage.

1. You stated that she is not ready to resign. If so, then she herself will cancel the marriage proposal if she does not get sabatical leave for 5 years, not you.

2. I am aware of one case with Allahabad Bank where the lady employee had left for USA after marriage & became Leave Without Pay for 9 months after consuming all her EL/SL etc. After returning to India after an year she was reinstated with the help of their Union.

3. Leave for 5 years may not be permitted. However, she should take written clarrification/approval in advance from the Authority before deciding for this marriage.

Such leaves are not rights unless employer
agrees for.

Hence issue should be dealt with management of Bank and not with this forum.

EVEN IF LEAVE IS GRANTED FOR 5 YEARS IT IS LIABLE TO BE CANCELLED IN NEXT 5 HOURS.

I have similar views as explained by the experts, she should prefer marriage and not service, otherwise drop her and select some other girl.

very well advised by the experts, if she does not agree to resign drop the idea of marriage with her.

This cannot be a marriage condition.

Even after marriage, she is free to do job anywhere in the world.
