In civil suit ,along evidence can i file xerox copies of the documents,
as i have lost the original document.

you have to state how originals were lost when xerox were taken . the person who has taken xerox of orginials has to stae on oath the aforesaid facts .

As per Section 65(c) of The Indian Evidence Act, 1872 secondary evidence is allowed
when the original has been destroyed or lost, or...

As per Indian Evidence Act, 1872 secondary evidence is allowed , if Org not traceable.

It is not that simple since there will be other side to object.

Unless you can show that the XEROX copies are exact copies of the originals the same can not be admitted.

Even if you produce the person who had copied them still the question will arise how the person remembered the contents.

The opponent will always allege that the same are fabricated / doctored , unless you can prove otherwise.

Photostat copy cannot be got exhibited, whatever be the reasons behind it. You can lead secondary evidence as per procedure.
