Company law

(Querist) 17 June 2013 This query is : Resolved
Can the shares of a listed/unlisted company be pledged while it is undergoing the process of amalgamation?
Guest (Expert) 17 June 2013
"Undergoing the process of amalagamation" and "amalagamated" are two different terms. But registration of the shares by the date of book closure for exchange of shares would be the liability of the shareholder, who pledged the share. So, if date of book closure is not yet announced, there whould be no harm in pledging of such shares.
