Harrassment of men by wife

One of the friend of Mine is facing a very critical situation.He is asking for divorce but in reply she is neither giving divorce nor living well.The Men once even tried for suicide but luckily he is alive.
She is mentally as well as physically torturing him.All the relatives of his wife are also threatning him.
Although due to children they are living together but they are not having any relationship of husband and wife since the last 4 years.

Pls tell what steps he should follow to get a divorce.

first of all file a criminal complaint against her family members if they threaten to you or your family members to file false cases against you. after that file a divorce petition on desertion ground.

Then ground of cruelty is made out for divorce.what proof you have?

Wheneven he asks for divorce she says u r involved with sum one else so i will destroy ur life and not give u divorce so that ucan not marry again.I will live with u and make ur life hell.To torture him mentally he uses the childeren as weapons and even uses the abusive words for children and beat them harshly to torture him.
