my mother in law has a self acquired house which she has sold and wants to co register a new property in her and my husband's name. I have 4 sister in laws all married. Do the daughters have any claim on the new house.
Kiran Kumar (Expert) 18 June 2012
during her life time, your mother in law can deal with her self acquired property as per her own will.

yes...............
Adv.R.P.Chugh (Expert) 18 June 2012
No they have no right/title or interest in mother's self acquired property.
Sudhir Kumar, Advocate (Expert) 18 June 2012
Tyhe views of Mr Chugh hold good as long as she is alive.

After death the situation will be other-wse as it is not your husband's self-acquired property. As long as your mother-in-laws name is there they have a right to agitate and even if you secure a WILL they have a right to challange the validity of the same.
Shonee Kapoor (Expert) 19 June 2012
Your m.i.l. can deal with the property in any manner she deems fit.
