Society matter related to receipt

i am staying in my cousin flat since from 2002 so i am paying the maintanance since from 2002 till 2010,then my cousin came in 2011 and so he paid the maintance from 2010 till 2011 dec from his pocket and took the receipt along with him, and now i have told the society chairman that if i will pay the society maintance from my pocket,then i want the receipt with my name,but they are telling that the receipt will be given with my cousin name on it,since he is the owner of the flat,then i told them to write on the receipt that the money was given by me, so my name should be mentioned down as paid by francis, and i dont mind if my cousin name is mentioned...............what is the best way that i should take the receipt please help.........should the receipt be taken with my name or with my cousin name,which way is legally,if i am paying from my pocket then my name sshuold be mentioned.........will the receipt be a problem for me in the feature...i have got receipt from 2002 till 2010 it is just a ordinary receipt what the shopkeeper give only the society rubber stamp is put on it..........the society is registered but they have not folloed the rules since from date of registration,they dont have a society bank account also, so you can think.........should i pay them by cheque,but then they want the cheque with one of the members name on it,so it will go in that member account and then they will withdraw the money,sholud i mentioned ny thing behind the cheque while giving the cheque or i should not give the cheque to them,then what will be the best way to give the maintance money please guide me......thank you

You have not mentioned for what purpose you want the receipt in your name when the property is owned by your cousin brother.
If you want to show the receipt for showing your possession then it is better to have any rent/lease deed from your cousin instead of becoming adamant to have your name on the maintenance receipts.
Even if your name is duly mentioned in the receipts, even then it doesn't show your possession over the property because maintenance can be deposited by any person on behalf of some other person.
Anyway, if society is not ready to mention your name on the face of receipt then get it mentioned at over leaf or at front side as follows:
Received an amount of Rs. ...........as maintenance of house no. .............duly owned by .............for the month of ......................through Francis.

Society will issue receipt in your cousin name only.
You may pay your a/c payee cheque, so get proof of payment by you.
