Limitation of information commission to act on false info

(Querist) 12 October 2011 This query is : Resolved
Is there a limitation / time limit for a Information Commission to act on False information Complaint proved beyond reasonable doubt ?

Can the complainant give a ultimatum to the Information Commissioner to act within a time frame thereafter take up the matter with the Hon'ble High Court?

This query arises as Information Commissioners have been going soft on Government Staff who give false / misleading info.

Thanks in Advance

If the PIO gives a false information, you can file a complaint before the RTI commission. The commission is empowered to penalize the PIO as per the RTI Act.

As CIC is soft on Govt. officials and your matter is pending therein for a long time for disposal, you need not 'warn or threaten' to commission rather can sue-motto go to High Court after waiting for a considerable period. Considerable period can be decided subject to posting of your entire facts of the case and events in sequence pertaining to your appeal.

Dear sir,
The information Commission is burdened with large number of cases and for disposal it will take nearly one year. so , you have to wait for your turn. you can access your complaint case status on CIC Website. However, you have not given the details of your case or background , so it is difficult to give any suggestions.
