Obc non creamy

My father is an Group C government employees and now he earns more than 8 lakhs. So am i eligible for OBC non creamy layer?

The correct position is that all those belonging to OBC, other than those classified as those constituting creamy layer, are entitled for reservation in direct recruitment to public employment. As regards to children of those belonging to service category, exclusion as to creamy layer, is based on on the classification of the post. Accordingly, only those who are in Class I(Group A) and Class II (Group B), as specified, are excluded. In such cases,Wealth/Income Test is not applicable unless there is income from other sources independent of the public service.

In the instant case, as the father of the author belongs to Group C, there could be no exclusion as being placed in the creamy layer in spite of the annual salary income being above eight lakhs.

In simple words, the author is placed non-creamy layer and is entitled to OBC reservation.

Yes. Candidates who fall under OBC creamy layer (parents’ annual income more than 8 lakhs) are treated as general category.
