If the grantee does not buy another land after selling the granted land, will the sale of granted land be null & void

Dear queriest, I think if the non-alienation period is over, the government after satisfying the reasons mentioned by the grantee, can give permission to sell the land concerned provided the grantee purchases some other land by investing the sale consideration received.
