Omi123 (Querist) 05 February 2017
I was just detained for 18 hours.. When I asked the officers present there, will this arrest affect my future? They were like nothing to be scared off that was an prevention act. Thereafter I did not inquire about it, but still I want to know will that detention affect my civil services career? During a background check will it affect?

Can get the status details through RTI from police department.

If not punished by the court, it seems there would be no effect.

I was not made present before magistrate or any court of law nor given any receipt. I was just detained for 18 hours unfortunately.

I was not convicted or anything as such.. No court of law/magistrate was involved. I just want to clear that arrest record is it legally possible?

Generally cases under section 151 IPC are tried instantly and do not wait for so long (2 years as stated by you) when prohibitive orders (under Section 141/ 144 IPC) were enforced and violated by you, disturbing peace and tranquility.

Take information u/s 6 RTI Act,2005 and proceed if required.

It do not affect (adversely) joining government job.

I agree with the experts.
