Purchase of agriculture land by nri

Dear Sir
I am an NRI and bought agriculture land in India some of them in my name and some of them in my wife name.
all sources are from my salary income transferred to my NRI account and other saving accounts.
now I came to know that NRI should not invest in agriculture land in India.
how to regularize the land that I bought.
now ED is asking my property details and i did not yet submit the details.
whether I can gift this land to my relatives and friend and get it back when I become resident.
I am seeking your valuable advise from you.

In which state the property is situated? because some rules and state Govt./executive instructions may vary from state to state.

NRIs are not supposed to invest in agricultural land.

If the property purchased by you has been registered under your name through a valid sale deed and if you have justification towards the source of the consideration towards the same and if ED is asking for the property details, then provide the details to ED.
Also mention the purpose for which you purchased the said agricultural land.
In case of any more questions raised by the ED or any notice from such department, then consult a good lawyer.

Contact and discuss with some senior lawyer in the state in which the land is situated.
Show all documents to some consultant dealing in ED cases and reply the notice. Have suggestion to regularize the transaction.
