According To Law Nominee is Only Trustee Who is entrusted with the Job of Transferring the Funds to the Legal Heirs. It is your responsibility to Transfer it to them and you can not make any Legal Claims unless you are an Legal Heir to the deceased.

The nomination in LIC policy is not parallel route to succession.

LIC can pay you and you need to pay the equally divided amounts to ClassI legal heirs i.e. Mother, spouse, sons,daughters..............

The legal heirs can sue you if you don't pay.

The proceeds / money belong to legal heirs and nominee is their trustee.
