Co operative housing society managing commitee

I and my wife have purchased one flat in mumbai as joint owners. The share certificate contain names of both me and my wife. The purchase agreement is in the joint name.
Our Managing comittee elections are due. Can I contest the election and hold the office either as Chairman/Secretary/Treasurer.

Sir,

[1] If your name appears first on the Share Certificate of the CHS then you can very well participate in the voting and/or stand for election to the Managing Committee.

[2] If, however, your name appears second on the share certificate, then your wife shall have to file an associate member nomination form for you, then you can participate in the voting and/or stand for election to the Managing Committee.

If your name appear first on the share certificate / name exist in the voter list of society you can proceed.
