An un-registered GPA is not a legally valid document, in case any body defends about its validity.
Rajendra K Goyal (Expert) 25 February 2014
The GPA need to be registered or let your FIL brother gift the property to your wife.
Devajyoti Barman (Expert) 25 February 2014
On the basis of unregistered GPA, no property can be transferred.

Un Registered Power of Attorney Is Of course A Valid Document and that depends on the Buyer to decide whether he is satisfied with Un Regd or Not.In this case it is your wife and who had executed is your FIL ' s brother so you could very well go ahead with Registration .Consult a Lawyer
