Police protection

Dear experts,

there is a inter cast marriage, and there is a high level threat to life and liberty of the couple, couple are in runway, police is in active against miscreants, concerned SP also silent and ask to mutual outside the PS, but girls family adamant to get her back and give her a 2nd marriage.

But Apex court has a verdict to protect the inter cast marriage couple.

So, where have to apply/where have to file petition and on which section and how much time it take to move and get order of protection (if think fit accordingly by the court for protection)

please advice in detail.

Lata Singh case (Lata Singh versus State of UP 2006 (6) SCALE 583),The caste system is a curse on the nation and the sooner it is destroyed, the better… Inter-caste marriages are, in fact, in the national interest as they will result in destroying the caste system," was the observation made by a two-judge Bench of the Supreme Court in a judgment delivered on July 7, 2006.

The Bench consisting of Justices Ashok Bhan and Markandey Katju also directed the police throughout the country to extend protection to inter-caste or inter-religious couples against harassment besides initiating action against those who resort to violence.
if police are not acting to protect you move the high court to direct police to provide you police protection

you cna file complaint before National human Rights comission

your wife can also file complaint before state women right commission

Lodge complaint to the local P.S.and S.P. then file Writ Petition in High Court for in-action of the Police authority on residuary ground.You can also loge complaint to the Human Right Commission but relief may be got in rare cases.
