Without perusing the intimation alongwith the computation of total income it is difficult to answer your query, further they may be a demand because of non reflection of Tds, disallowance of any claim u/s.80C or U/c.VIA or wrong filing of details of the return, however, you can seek rectification u/s.154 of the act provided the error is apparent from the records.

You should reply properly the letter received from IT commissioner and should raise objection as per details in your possession. You can demand the process of calculation done by department and may reconcile with your accounts and may initiate further action as advised.

Yes I agree,

You would have received a assessment order also that would have shown the basis of arriving at the amount of Rs 2,264.

This may be due to incorrect computation of taxes by you or incorrect exemption claim that may have been disallowed by the IT departement.

Check the basis if the demand is approprriate pay the same.
