My doubt is about the commencement of trial in civil cases. Whether it is on the date of filing Chief Affidavit or on the date of recording of statements, kindly clarify

It is from the date of evidence. Mere filing of the chief is not considered as starting of evidence unless on the same date is duly tendered by the plaintiff.

Trial in civil suit starts from the framing of issues which is followed by evidence in chief and further cross-examination.
