Can a company/bank frame rules so that an officer can be instructed to report to another officer of same grade? for example Mr.A & B are managers of the same grade and B is senior to A by 2 months by considering the length of service completed. Can B be instructed to report A for all admn & other matters? Is there any remedy for Mr. B under labour law?

Rules are framed for convenience and better administrative co-ordination. If a rule is framed within the ambit of the law governing the company/bank then there is no legal remedy. From your question it seems that there is a problem since both the officers are of the same grade. There can be no legal remedy. Views of Lr friends are invited

In fact it all depends on the rules governing the administration. Normally, a subordinate has to report the senior. But if two are equal in cadre the question arises as to whether the junior in service should report to the senior. It all depends on internal rules.

Rules are made for convenience and better administraion, Normally, a subordinate has to work under the supervision of the senior. There can be no legal remedy in you case.

No labour law or legal provisions can help the officer not to do his duty as envisaged within his service rules. It is not a harassment to report to an officer which may be junior to him only 2 months or vice-versa if the requirement of the job exists there.
