Can I apply for Passport, If there is an accident case pendi

Querist : Anonymous (Querist) 03 September 2010 This query is : Resolved
I have a pending accident case against me from 2007, and my current job requires me to go abroad for few days. I do not want to disclose this fact to my employer as I do not know what would be there reaction. Please let me know weather I would be able to obtain a legal Indian passport and how, with the accident case pending? Also let me know the immigration issues and can it be handled and how?

there is no bar to apply for the passport, but at the time of police inquiry truth will come out and police may deny the clearance certificate.

Yes. The difficulty will arise when the police investigation commences. The truth will come out and your application for passport will be rejected on the ground of suppression of material facts. Please take care.

If any case is pending , then u shd tell accordingly. Accident case is pending will not deny u passport.

If the police raises any objection then you could obtain the permission of the Magistrate for issuance of Passport to remove such hurdle.
