Credit card misused by a friend

Hello Sir/Madem,
One of my friend misused my credit card and swiped money around 1.5 lakhs. One day he asked my credit card to fill petrol to his bike and he swiped around 1.5 lakhs. When i came to know he told me that he will pay the bill. He even changed my credit card contact number to his number because of that i dont know whats happening on my card. I informed this to his father and finally he converted the amount to emi and started giving me the emi amount. Few months back i moved to Belgium for official work. Since then he stopped paying me the money and now he is refusing to pay back the amount.
Is it possible to take legal action against him through law. If possible what are all the details i have to collect/provide ?
Please give me some suggestion because i dont know anything about law.

First you get some documents from your friend regarding using of your credit card, then issue legal notice.

This is a case pf cheating and criminal breach of trust for which you can initiate criminal case against him u/s 420, 406 IPC.

file criminal complaint of cheating against your friend . the mistake you made was you lent him your credit card and he used your credit limit of Rs 1.5lakhs to purchase goodies .

U too acted illegally, disclosed ur password / log in id & card, so ur contributory negligence will weaken ur case.
He withdraw with ur instructions!
so settling amicably is far better.

DID YOU LODGE FIR OR INFORMED YOUR BANKER?
Are debit or credit cards toys?
You state he needed the card for fuel filling in his bike then you should have lended him say 100 to 500 hundred/Handover of card was not the requirement.
Was it oral or a settlement in writing under which he was paying you EMI to compensate you for 150000 withdrawn with out your consent.
Any way go to police.

I do endorse the advice of Mr. Singh. Police complaint is the only way to get the desired relief in the given case.

Hi All,
Thanks for your valuable comments and advices. I know i made a big mistake by lending the card and trusting him. I will try to get back the money in a friendly way and if not possible i will lodge a complaint against him. I want to know whether it is possible to lodge a complaint (at worst case) and i got the answer.
