A company in Kerala was earlier selling certain products on Amazon.in.
The company has received a notice from Senior Inspector, Legal Metrology (Weights & Measures) Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, stating that the company has violated section 18(1)/36(1) of ‘the Legal Metrology Act, 2009’, read with rule 5 (Second Schedule, serial number 8) of ‘Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules, 2011’
The Company has since withdrawn the product from sale under Amazon.in. Further, no sales have been made till date to any customers in Uttar Pradesh.
The Company has been asked to to opt for compounding of offence u/s 48(1), else face criminal action in the court.
Questions/ requirement:
1. Does the UP Legal Metrology department have jurisdiction over a Kerala company?
2. Does the UP Legal Metrology department have jurisdiction when no sales are made in Uttar Pradesh?
3. What is the best way forward to address this issue?
Hi, I bought a penthouse in Pune in 2017 and got interiors done with a transparent acrylic sheet at terrace in 2018. We raise a request in society register and they allowed us to get it done in our terrace as it wasn't permanent construction. The transparent acrylic sheet got damaged and needs a replacement. i went to society office for permissions as society gate generally doesn't allow any material to get in without permission from society. what they told me is to get permission from PMC to replace transparent acrylic sheet as it's not in their capacity. when i challenged them that its not permanent construction or structural change but just to cover from rains, why does it need to go to PMC and it was done just two years back after speaking to society bearers to which they replied that PMC recently challenged them as to why are they giving permissions even for this hence it needs to go to PMC. Can someone please help me on this?

Dear Sir,
My brother-in-law has filed a petition for divorce on grounds of cruelty, desertion and adultery. My sister has also filed a police case with CAW Cell. My brother-in-law has two self acquired houses in addition to his rights in the family property.
One of the self acquired houses is in joint name with my sister.
Does my sister have a right to her husband's property in joint name?
Thanks and regards

The facts of the case are that the accused "X" has filed a bail application on the grounds that the role of accused is very less.He has been in custody for 4 years. Accused has been falsely implicated. No specific allegation has been levelled against him in the chargesheet filed by the police. He has been in custody for more than 4 years. Prima facie there is nothing on record to show that accused has comitted the offence. The medical condition of accused is not good.
The allegations against the accused is that he has abducted the doctor and his compounder and a sum of Rs 25 crores has been demanded for release. The police have arrested all the accused, in total 9. The victims have corroborated their version in their statement u/s 164. The bail application of all co-accused were earlier rejected. The PP has brought this to the notice of court. So keeping in view this and also the gravity of offence the bail application of "X" is also rejected. This is in session court.
Sections imposed - 365/364-A/392/395/397/328/343/412/506/120B/34 IPC& 27 ARMS ACT.
The Query is that can we ask for Regular and Interim bail in the same application in HC by writing Interim/Regular.
