First Information Report or popularly known as FIR is the first stage of reporting a crime. The victim or any witness can report to the police about any crime committed by an accused. Once the complaint is lodged an entry is made in the crime dairy and the investigation is launched, based on the complaint and the outcome of the investigation the police report their findings as a chargesheet before the court.

No. Both are not same. FIR is the copy of complaint made by any person to police whereas the final report submitted by police before court after investigating the complaint is called charge-sheet.
Charge-sheet contains the whole chain of crime, recovery etc, if any, challan report against all or any accused etc.

Both are not same. FIR will be filed immediately after the complaint received by the complainant. Charge sheet will be filed after the investigation of crime. Along with the charge sheet wittnesses statements and panchanama and other necessary documents will be filed.
