Kidnapping minor

(Querist) 14 February 2010 This query is : Resolved 
In my street, One girl aged about 16 years fell in love with her college student aged about 20 years. One day she was without informing her parents runaway with her lover, Since, 1 month not returned back. Her parents worried about her and made a complaint to Local Police station, till the date police officers not taken any action. Kindly advise what to do and whom to approach her parents...

Made representation to the Higher officer of the police on his non functioning and also approched before the court wherein the police has intimated about the case. And made request to the concerned court for the appropriate directions for needful. K L Ojha.JHC- ADVocate-09431902920.

If police has not taken any action then it is advisable to approach higher police officials and additionally a direction can be sought from HC.

Mr Raj is right. In High Court the parents can file "habeous corpus" writ petition or can file an application for issuing search warrant in section 97 Cr.P.C. before distrct magistrate, SDM OR Magistrate first class.

Yes. Habeas corpus is the quickest remedy.
