Overlapping joining and relieving date

Hi Sir,

I have got relieving date of 3rd Oct from my current employer and my new employer also wants me to join on 3rd oct itself.
Will overlapping date of 3rd Oct create problems in my future career movements. I can be relieved on 30th Sep also but my gratuity becomes due on 1st Oct which is Sat and our office is closed and no relieving possible. My new employer also does not want to compromise on dates. Pls suggest.

and employee shall write the existing notice period, notice period that can be tendered, joining period etc in employment application and forms submitted to next perspective employer.

Apparently you have not done your home work properly and have not consulted elders in the family, employee's/trade unions, a very able counsel specializing in Labor/service matters, before tendering notice of resignation and date of joining.



You have mentioned about the effect on your Gratuity. You have not been able to make this issue clear.You need to make it clear.



The solution lies in your own skills and rapport with current and future employer.




The notice of resignation can be withdrawn before expiry of notice period.


As an employee you need to learn tom defend your interest.


Is next employer willing to compensate you for your loss, if any, without an conditions and pay it on 1st day of joining?

Thanks Sir for your reply. I really repent that I have not done my homework before doing all this. Now can anything be done. If I join on 3 October in new company what will be the repercusrsions.

Who has given this date: employer or it is chosen by you?
