Birthdate on birth certificate

(Querist) 12 June 2016 This query is : Resolved
Respeted sir,
I have this query regarding my Birthdate correction. I have to apply for my passport.
According to my birth certificate i was born on 12/01/1995. But all the other documents that i have i.e. aadhar card, driving license, 10th, 12th marksheets, engineering degree etc. have the Birthdate as 14/01/1995.
Is it possible to change my Birthdate on the birth certificate. If yes, please guide me with the procedure. It would be nice of you tell me if there was any govt. Portal for clarifyi g such issues. I was born in Nagpur district in Maharashtra.
Thanking you in advance.
Regards,
Arpan jaiswal

Birth certificate is the main document referred to in making all these documents. You should have entered the correct dob while applying for the other documents.

Birth certificate is issued by the local authority based on the medical report submitted by the hospital authority where you were born. It is not possible to change the date on birth certificate. However, you can get it corrected in your other documents.

You can get it corrected only by filing a case.

It is difficult to change date of birth in birth certificate. You can proceed to change it on other documents.

Birth certificate can only be corrected in-case there is an typographical error or mismatch in the date as submitted by the hospital.

Who has issued birth certificate?

Why it was recorded as 12/1/1995 instead of 14/1/1995?

How does it affect your pass-port or your proceeding abroad and/or pursuing career?

It is very cumbersome and difficult to get the date changed, which shall have to be proved and declared by Court, published and notified to all authorities (including CBSE/Board-where you have passed your 10th & 12th exam, university and engineering college for rectification).

Contact, consult and engage a local lawyer for proper guidance and proceedings if you feel strong for getting your date amended/ corrected.
