Now he wants to follow Hinduism and wish to convert to hindu. Whether the benefits available for Scheduled castes will be available to him if he convert to hindu.
please clarify.

As the identity of the parents is BC christians even if he converts back to hinduism,he cannot get back the sc status. Was he a born christian or a hindu?

No. He will not get the benefits available to SC even he converts as Hindu now.
T. Kalaiselvan, Advocate (Expert) 22 October 2015
There are conflicting opinions not only in this portal but in real situations too. Based on his ancestors he is a descendant of the SC community thus he is eligible for SC community privileges the government offers, his parents have converted to Christianity whereas the root clearly indicates his community, hence he may apply after converting to Hinduism and quote the relevant community of his grandparents and other close relatives to identify himself as one among them. The revenue department may or may not accept his application.
