I have moved to US quite recently with my family I got married 10 years back but somehow I did not got my marriage registered in INDIA I got my passport and US visa stamping done on the basis of marriage certificate provided by Gram Panchayat in Himachal which seems to be not valid in US
I have seen an article in times of india saying that Delhi HC has approved marriage registration via video conferencing, I am not sure if I can take this benefit in registering my marriage My wife name is included in my passport and same vice versa
From the post I learned that we need to execute power of attorney in favor of my parents whom we have faith and same needs to be executed before the indian consulate
Does this mean, our certificate will have genuine registration number
Appreciate your response in helping us on the same

Marriage is to be registered at the Local Body. How you have come to the conclusion that"marriage certificate provided by Gram Panchayat in Himachal which seems to be not valid in US"?

You can proceed to get late registration of your marriage with the Registrar of Marriage in HP. You can find out if there exist online registration process in HP.

The facility of online registration might not be for the residents of whole of India rather might be confining to the residents of Delhi. You need to get the marriage registered in Himachal pradesh only and GPA for that purpose can definitely be sent.

hello everyone
I have come to US only a month back and its not possible for me to go back to India immediately with my family.As i don't have a registered marriage certificate , i am getting quite a few problems in US like getting a driving licence for my wife.
I have read about a judgement passed by High Court Delhi that marriage certificate can be generated in India by Video Conferencing if the couple cannot come to India.I have got married in Himachal Pradesh.So is it possible for me
1. To apply for registration in HImachal by video conference as the judgement was passed in delhi high court.
2. Or do i need apply for the registration in Delhi but i didn't get married in Delhi
3. if any of the two is possible, how can i apply for the same.

Can you send me a copy of such judgment passed by Delhi High Court since I am not aware, rather I did not come across any judgment to the effect.
Q1. Contact and consult a local HP lawyer if any such facility has been generated. However, to my knowledge it is not in Delhi till date.
Q2. What is the basis for maintainability of application for registration of marriage in Delhi? How could you establish that the marriage was solemnized in Delhi?
Q3. Vague query.
However, application form and procedure to apply for registration of marriage is provided in the official website of Delhi government.

My parents stay in DELHI but our marriage was solemnized in HP (Matrimonial Home DELHI)
