Sir, my father'sassed away on 19.01.2015. We haveapplied for death certificate and obrained that too. Now we 3 sons and our mom are the legal heirs. While applying for legal heir certificate dty.tahsildar demanding death certificate of my grand mother. She died in 1995. At that time none of my stepfather or my father got the same. We have produced letter from notary public to dy.thasildar that my grandma is no more. Even vao, rev.inspector signed the papers and fwd it dy.thasildar.
Now my grandma's death cert. is mandatory for getting legal heir certificate or not?
please help me now for obtaining my grandma's death certificate we have to go tuticorin.

Legal heir certificate issued with tregard to the person died and legal heir.You needn't produce the other legal heir certificate as demanded.

The Dy.Tehsildar is wrong in insisting the certificate. You find out the ways to get the certificate from him.

The Deputy Tahsildar is unnceessarily harassing you. You take up the matters with the higher authorities.

The revenue department after enquiry and satisfactory report by its VAO/Revenue Inspector, can proceed with the issuance of the legal heirship certificate as per the application, if the Dy. Tahsildar is still insisting even after the report by VAO, you may take up the mater with the District collector for further reliefs on the issue.

Thank u sirs for ur ideas.. in mean time I was trying to get death cert. Of my grandma also lodged a online petition in dist. Admins website. If it is not resolved I ll do as u said sir. Thank u so much

I am of the opinion that your grandma's death certificate is mandatory for issuing the legal heir certificate of your father.
