Sharing water pump bill with neighbour & he is not giving bill

(Querist) 11 June 2014 This query is : Resolved
Sharing water pump bill with neighbour & he is not giving bill

I am sharing water pump with my neighbour and we share that bill amount. The water pump bill is coming into his house electric bill, so I am not clear how much is actual amount only for water pump.
I had asked him to separate that water pump bill but he is not agreeing to it.
Also when i ask him to give me the bill monthly, he dont and says give it to him annually.

Is there any law code which enforces that the bill needs to be given timely to me and separation of bill is mandatory?

Can i send him a notice or just a registered post letter will suffice?

Thank you.

file a civil suit each month and have a house in front of court complex.

I suggest you to install a submeter for motor and share the cost.

It seems that the sharing is mutual without any specific written agreement with defined terms and conditions.

If no amicable solution possible, the suggestion from expert Advocate Arunagiri ji is very practical and should be accepted.

Sharing electricity bill neighbour...
Whether the neighbour is owner or co-tenant?
What was the understanding when you took the house on rent?
In the absence of written agreement, you have three options:
1. Ask the owner to install sub-meter.
2. If that is not agreed, if the shared amount is not unreasonable, you can continue the present arrangement without rising dispute for petty matters.
3. If you 1 & 2 is not acceptable to you/your owner, vacate and find out another house.
There is no point in waging legal battle on petty matters.

Trifling act.
As u r taking Advantage, of sharing pump/ piping etc, and benefited, not at loss;
Pay approximately half if equal volume of water pumped/ or almost equal usage/ no of persons/
If not satisfied, get your pump separated, . Do not fight in court, being neighbours.
purchase pump & ur own wirings, connected to your elec bill..

U never mentioned your loss in money p.m. or any inconvenience to you...

I agree with the opinions of experts Mr. Arunagiri and Mr. Malipeddi Jagga Rao on the subject issue. This suggestion, if followed, may create a congenial atmosphere to solve the issues.

Sub meter is most useful for such sharing
