Birth certificate of my infant son

dear sir/madam, let me explain my quires, My infant son's birth is registered in chennai corporation as name: Mohammed Mukarram Y, Mohammed is our family name,
Mukarram is my son's actual name,
Y stands for Yousuf its my name (father name)
Now i want to apply for passport for my son, please can you tell me how is the correct procedure to fill online application? if i fill Mohammed in surname, will it is acceptable by passport office? asking because family name is typed before actual name in birth certificate. is it ok to proceed? pls help me .

first get birth certificate rectified . child name followed by father name and surname should be reflected in birth certificate . then only apply for passport

dear ajay sir,
in chennai usually no family name for most of resident but using father's name as initial, in my case if i put full name in birth certificate they will consider as entire name row as given name and they will ask for initial to use in surname field, please tell me what is the correct path i use for passport application.

Yes RPO will accept Mohaammed as surname, You read care fully Annexture E of passport form.

Annexture E is for name change right? but in my case is only interchange of first name and last name, is annexture E is have to submit along with? do i need to make newspaper publish and wait for next 30 days to go for RPO ? any how annexture H i will submit since my son is infant now, please help tell me sir, most thank full

not a legal query. You have not contacted passport office.
you are not the first south Indian with such name who wants a passport.

sir my appointment is this month last only, but before i need to know that weather surname can be used from first as in birth certificate?
