Deseption by salt department.

(Querist) 20 February 2014 This query is : Resolved
We are the traditional salt farmers in Andhra Pradesh. Our salt fields are immemorial. But we do not have any patta or any document. Revenue records also do not show our name. Till 1985 we had paid land revenue to the Salt Department.

In 1965 Salt Department told us it is their land and execute lease deed for licence to make salt. The lease given for 20 years and renewed every time. Lease money (Assignment fee) was One Rupee per Ton.

Now Lease Money increased to Rs.100/- Salt Department has issued orders that no further renewel of lease. If we want land put tender. Tender rates very high.

Lawyers told us we wrongly signed the lease deed. We were the owners. But lose ownership by signing lease deed.
We are very poor people. Salt making our livng. Please help us what we should do.

file writ petition as the way government have acquired your land is not as per land acquisition law, this is just a suggestion, enagage a lawyer to deal with this issue as he can advise you in much better manner after looking at your documents.

We have no any documents other than the licence issued by the Department and the lease deed.

However we are the farmers time memorial, more than two hundred or three hundred years.
