Respected Sir, our own family property ( agricultural land) taken by block development officer for build road, now the 50% work has done, they are saying that government can take the land where ever they want without notice to the owners, now what i should do?
Note: we have Patta copy and Chitta copy in our name, contract taken by the local ADMK politician,
for this what is the legal procedure to stop the work?

file a injunction suit against the BDO, as the BDO/government has failed to give prior notice to you for the acquisition of land. You have a valid ground in getting injunction against BDO.

Built in safe guards available for the land owner especially agricultural land for public purpose. You may check whether notice is issued to you individually and in a prominent daily as most of the time they take shelter under issuing notice in dailies. Since you are saying it is a road, definitely your neighbors also would have been affected. Consult all affected people to form an association and approach a local lawyer well versed in civil law so that you can seek appropriate remedy through legal means.

For public purposes land can not be taken over just like that and the land acquisition act has built in safe guards. Is your neighbor also got affected being road formation? If yes form an association and consult a local lawyer well versed in civil matters to protect your interest and in initiating legal action without wasting any further time.
